  Adult Education
In “Adult Contemporary,” their show at People’s Improv Theater, Bob Wiltfong and Matt Oberg present a breezy and smart but slight collection of minimalist skits without a lot of set dressing or costume.
Wiltfong and Oberg save the best sketch in their repetoire for last … a duo of Christian improvisers (and former Christian boy band members) obsessed with chastity … sort of.
Wiltfong and Oberg aren’t aiming to have you rolling in the aisles, but they get you with their absurdities.

Born in Omaha Nebraska, Bob Wiltfong studied Broadcast News Journalism at The University of Kansas.
In 2002, after a ten-year career as journalist, Bob decided that he didn't care for his career and began to concentrate on comedy full time.
That one came from a suggestion from the news director who honestly thought that Wiltfong might be a little too scary of a name for the Cajon population.

Wiltfong still looks every inch the TV news man, but he is a humble and engaging narrator possessed with gentle authority, a less cerebral, more emotional Demetri Martin.
Wiltfong comes armed with slightly surreal clips from his TV career, but rather than milk the comedy of some of the footage, he chooses to expose the rot at the heart of US news.

"Everything you are about to hear is true," the preppy Bob Wiltfong assures us in the friendly, confident and authoritative voice that stood him in such excellent stead in the decade he spent as an American TV newsman.
No one should be surprised at the cynicism of certain branches of journalism, and Wiltfong certainly does his bit to reinforce that image with a handful of reasonably amusing anecdotes that could have come straight out of Drop The Dead Donkey.
The way he changes his name as he moves from city to city up the greasy pole is amusing; but that he illustrated a story about water efficiency by seemingly appearing naked, his modesty preserved by the miracle of pixilation, isn't as hilarious as he thinks it is.

Just to be fair, Wiltfong also interviews a squad of cheerleaders ("chanteuses of desire") from Austin's McCallum High School.
