Bob Schieffer asked to stay for "a while longer" - TV Squad
New CBS News president Sean McManus has asked Bob Schieffer to stay as anchor of the CBS Evening News for "a little while longer" while the news division tries to figure out how to revamp the third-place broadcast.
Viewers like it, too; viewership of the newscast has gone up 3.1 percent compared to the same period one year ago, when Gunga Dan Rather was still the anchor.
It's a mutual admiration society over there at CBS; Schieffer has been enjoying the work as well, especially the fact that he's showcasing young reporters such as Lara Logan and Trish Regan (funny, the article didn't mention any young male reporters).

ABC World News Tonight - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Following Jennings's reassignment as international correspondent in 1968, ABC News was hosted by Bob Young (October 1967 to May 1968), Frank Reynolds (May 1968 to May 1969), and, eventually, Reynolds and Howard K. Smith (May 1969 to December 1970).
Some former anchors of the weekend news include Sam Donaldson from the mid-1970's to 1988, Carole Simpson from 1988-2003, and Current World News Tonight anchor Bob Woodruff from 2003-2005.
On December 5, 2005, ABC announced Elizabeth Vargas and Bob Woodruff would be the new permanent co-anchors starting January 3, 2006, replacing Jennings.

The ABC evening newscast is also making a more concerted effort to woo young viewers--and make Vargas and Woodruff earn every cent of their presumably-hefty paychecks--by tapping the duo to coanchor a brief Webcast earlier in the day on ABCNews.com.
Elizabeth Vargas and Bob Woodruff were tapped Monday to take over as coanchors of World News Tonight, starting next month.
The pairing of Vargas, 44, and Woodruff, 47, marks the first coanchoring of a major network evening newscast since Dan Rather and Connie Chung briefly--and disastrously--tag-teamed at CBS in the mid-'90s.

"Was embedding successful?" asks ABC News anchor Bob Woodruff (1st Marine Division, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion).
But 34 years ago, when Cerre (pronounced sir-RAY) was a member of a Marine reconnaissance unit that flew out of Da Nang, Vietnam, the 23-year-old lieutenant would occasionally run into a brash young CBS News recruit "with a big 'fro and military fatigue shirt" who would become famous someday but was then merely a nuisance.
Don Dahler, ABC News' embed with the 101st Airborne and with the "Stryker Brigade" of the 2nd Infantry Division in January, says "the major drawback was mobility," and "it really hindered our story coverage in a lot of ways.

 The Joe Bob Report
If you've seen the original "Night Stalker" movie, then you pretty much know the plot of this graphic novel: Carl Kolchak, reporter for the Las Vegas Daily News, investigates a series of killings in which young women have been drained of their blood.
The art is loose, and characters often seem to lack the weight to anchor them in their surroundings.
The killings and their details differ, there are some interesting new characters, and Kolchak's girlfriend is quite clearly a hooker, something the producers of the 1972 movie left vague.
