Kylie Minogue: Body Language - PopMatters Music Review
Minogue's slinky undergarments (revealed to all when Spooner ripped her dress off with a flourish), but even more curious was the music itself.
Minogue's 2001 album Fever was a long-overdue breakthrough in North America; for a decade, she had reigned as one of the top pop acts in the world, but had been unable to follow up her early Stateside success as a Stock, Aitken, and Waterman product back in 1988.
Minogue is at her most sultry and seductive, as she croons, "Knew you'd be here tonight/ So I put my best dress on/ Boy I was so right," as the synths build up subtly, only to come to an immediate halt on the hypnotic chorus.

 Body Language
Body Language is such a far cry from the campy Light Years that started her career resurgence three years ago, I won't blame her loyal fans within the gay community for feeling used.
Body Language is essentially a well-produced album designed to penetrate the US market via Starbucks and other jazzy coffee bean lounges and bistros everywhere.
Body Language is a great CD to accompany moments of pretentious glamor, such as when I want to dress up like Bridget Bardot in her glamorous days and twirl a spoon artfully in a cup of sophisticated java while trying to catch the eye of a Raoul Bova lookalike in Tuscany.

SPIN.com: Kylie Minogue - Body Language
Kylie Minogue's tenth studio release kicks off with the electro-minimal single “Slow," and her addictive, purring vocals will undoubtedly bring all the boys to the yard (though granted, most of them will most likely be gay).
On Body Language, the songs that are unapologetically feisty and playful far outshine the ballads that struggle for deeper meaning.
Apart from the lackluster slow jams, Kylie shimmers when she’s baring her midriff and standing in the spotlight, and it's evident the pop princess has been practicing her body rolls.

Kylie Minogue - Body Language - Review - Stylus Magazine
I attribute Kylie Minogue’s survvival to the same sort of visual mechanism that zebras use to escape their predators; her "stripes," a genial sexiness that has enabled her to continue her musical endeavors for nearly two decades, have always been alluring and winsome.
Body Language isn’t a surprising record, but that’s the whole point; as in Fever Kylie has again superceded her American counterparts with an album of fashionable thrills, dance-pop artisanship, and total, utter hotness.
Kylie proves herself to be a consummate entertainer, breezing through the chill muzak of "Promises" and "Chocolate"’s wild disco jam with equal ease.

Minogue has proved that she is the new Madonna, she has reinvented herself once again, and yet managed to retain that Kylie-esque feel to her music.
Kylie has been doing this for years and this album might be just a bit too different for the pop Kylie fans.
Kylie can do better than this and hopefully her next record will be the same old Camp Kylie that I've come to love.

 NME.COM - Reviews - Minogue, Kylie : Body Language
This one's been brewing since 2002, and it arrived approximately the same time as the artist formerly known as Kylie Minogue stepped out at the 2001 Brit Awards singing a version of her career-changing single 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', as spliced together with New Order's 'Blue Monday'.
As you might expect, it's a question that has, of late, not been far from the thoughts of Kylie Minogue and her squadron of career guardians.
'Body Language' - really the only appropriate title for an album by a woman about whose bottom so much has been written - is therefore a unique Kylie Minogue record, one that is forced to defend a position of strength.

Kylie's emotions are big and clear: She's exuberant, she's coy, she's electrically charged, she's really horny.
Body Language is an album only partly suited to a goddess—Madonna inhabited similar beats far more securely on Music, and unlike her American semi-counterpart, Kylie doesn't appear to have any vocal training to show off.

Instead of opting for more of the light dance- and disco-pop of the last two releases, Kylie has sought to expand her horizons.
While Madonna, Xtina, and Britney have attempted to achieve maturity through trashiness and not really all that shocking behavior (i.e., that MTV Awards kiss), Kylie maintained a low profile, retained a sense of class, and put together what may well be the best album of her career.
Simply, Body Language is what happens when a dance-pop diva takes the high road and focuses on what's important instead of trying to shock herself into continued relevance.

 Kylie Minogue - Body Language - Review - Uncut.co.uk
She was always going to struggle to follow "Can't Get You Out Of My Head", that ziggurat of cyber-pop which Paul Morley wrote a 180,000-word book about and described as the missing link between Shostakovich and Steps.
It comprises a dozen attempts to prove that La Minogue is, as one title here risibly puts it, a "Red Blooded Woman", superfluous perhaps when one considers she has been parading her pudenda before us for a decade.
And there's a duet with Green Gartside that for people of a certain age and aesthetic inclination should be godlike but is entertaining mostly because, after all the tweaking and smurfing of her voice, Kylie still doesn't sound as paedo-girly as Mr Politti.

The Aussie hitmaker's follow-up, Body Language, is less immediate and more experimental, a midway point between the alternative/electronica of 1997's Impossible Princess and Minogue's more mainstream post-millennium work.
"Slow," the aptly-titled lead single (few of the tracks on Body Language approach the club-thumping zeal of Fever), is a minimalist electro-pop/disco fusion with percolating crackle-and-pop beats and sugary vocal overdubs.
Minogue sings (or chirps), "I'm still standing/Keeping you dancing…Guess who's back on top?" like the EU's equivalent to Madonna.

BODY LANGUAGE starts off with the sensual "Slow," a remarkably spare song that glides along on simple synth lines, bubbling beats, and, of course, Minogue's airy coo.

Kylie Minogue (Body Language) mxdwn.com review by Thea Cooke
Kylie Minogue might be able to tell you, as the native Aussie sensation uses the style prominently on her new album: Body Language.
While groups like Ladytron are bringing back the synth sounds with a modicum of stiff retro flair, Minogue at least adds her seasoned pop vocal stylings to tracks like "Slow." Luckily the style is not all-pervasive.
With its disco extravaganza feel, 90s pop vocals and retro experimentalism, Minogue has certainly released another hit album for Australia, Europe and the U.K. Whether America receives it so well is another question.
