William Hazlitt's Essay, "On Corporate Bodies."   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-02)
Corporate bodies are more corrupt and profligate than individuals, because they have more power to do mischief, and are less amenable to disgrace or punishment.
The refinements of private judgment are referred to and negatived in a committee of the whole body, while the projects and interests of the Corporation meet with a secret but powerful support in the self-love of the different members.
Such are the qualifications and the apprenticeship necessary to make a man tolerated, to enable him to pass as a cypher, or be admitted as a mere numerical unit, in any corporate body: to be a leader and dictator he must be diplomatic in impertinence, and officious in every dirty work.

The group of persons or body that is chiefly responsible for the intellectual property of an item is given main entry, while added entry status is given to other corporate bodies or groups of persons who have secondary responsibility, and should be listed as access points in a catalogue.
Corporate authorship is another contentious element in the cataloguing world that began with Charles Cutter's statement that "bodies of men are to be considered as authors of works published in their name or by their authority" (Cutter 1904,69).
Problems in deciding the role of the corporate body, and whether or not to catalogue conference proceedings as separate entities, which will not shelf together, or keeping some conferences together for the benefit of users are only two of the many decisions that have great implications for the database and repercussions for the future.

Corporate governance should be based on respect for the rights and lawful interests of all participants and improve the quality of a company's operations by means of, among other things, increasing the value of corporate assets, creating jobs and enhancing the financial stability and profitability of the company.
To enable executive bodies to perform their functions, they are vested with extensive authority to dispose of the company’s assets; therefore, the work of executive bodies should be organized so as to promote trust in them by shareholders.
Members of executive bodies of the company have a duty to ensure that the operations of the company are conducted in strict compliance with the existing legislation, the charter and internal documents of the company, and the policies pursued by the board of directors of the company.

Trades Union Congress - The answers to work-related deaths: why we need a new corporate killing law
The offence of ‘corporate killing’ was first proposed by the Law Commission in a 1996 report [1] concerned with reforming the law of manslaughter as it applied both to individuals and corporate bodies.
Prosecuting large and medium sized corporate bodies is highly problematic since it is difficult to prove all the ingredients of the offence of manslaughter against a single director or senior manager of a large corporation.
The threat that their corporate bodies will be prosecuted and suffer a financial penalty and the potential loss of reputation, can induce directors and managers to take the necessary steps to ensure that deaths and injuries will not happen or, if they do, that they are not the result of management failures.

Qualifiers for musical groups should only be added when the name of the group does not convey the idea of a corporate body or when there is an actual conflict.
For the names of corporate bodies which fall between the above two categories, such as Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Road Apple, L.A. Contempo, etc., add the designation because the idea of corporateness is not definite from the name alone.
Since the purpose of this qualifier is merely to establish that this is the name of a corporate body, the general term "(Musical group)" is most appropriate.
