Evidence Supporting Biological Evolution | Science and Creationism: A View from the National Academy of Sciences, ...
The unifying principle of common descent that emerges from all the foregoing lines of evidence is being reinforced by the discoveries of modern biochemistry and molecular biology.
From anatomical and paleontological evidence, the whales' closest living land relatives seemed to be the even-toed hoofed mammals (modern cattle, sheep, camels, goats, etc.).
Perhaps the most persuasive fossil evidence for evolution is the consistency of the sequence of fossils from early to recent.

Dolphins Anatomy Page 2 - Dolphins and Whales Window
Evidence for mirror recognition by dolphins was anecdotal until the nineties, but the scientific studies carried out by researchers Marten and Psarakos (1994, 1995) and Reiss and Marino (1998) confirmed it.
The researchers counterargue that the behaviours shown to evidence self awareness are very different to normal responses to another dolphin, including paying significantly more attention to another dolphin than towards their mirror image.
Gallup called the results "the most suggestive evidence to date" of mirror self-recognition in dolphins, but "not definitive" because he was not entirely clear that the dolphins were not interpreting the image in the mirror as another animal.

Assessing the body of evidence and grading recommendations in evidence-based clinical practice guidelines   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-08)
At present in Australia guideline recommendations in nationally endorsed CPGs are usually accompanied by an indication of the level of evidence (based on study design) supporting the recommendation, forcing users to rely on the levels, rather than the body, of evidence as a proxy for the strength of the recommendation.
To develop a system for assessing the body of evidence supporting a guideline recommendation that could be used as an interim measure until a full revision of the CPG development process is undertaken.
Five key components were identified as important in grading the body of evidence and each of these components is taken into consideration in assigning a grade to the recommendation, with the volume and consistency of evidence having more weight than clinical impact, applicability and generalisability, consistent with an evidence-based approach.

When a body is fresh, the medical examiner performs an autopsy, determines a cause and time of death; investigators probe the crime scene and evidence is gathered.
If a body is older and has partially decayed, or has been in the water for a long time, a forensic pathologist will examine the remaining soft tissues to determine an approximate postmortem interval (PMI) and a possible cause of death.
However, when a body is fully decayed to a skeleton and the bones partially decayed as well, or spread over a crime scene by animals or the weather, it is the forensic anthropologist that is called in to determine PMI which might be one or many years earlier.

Body types and body typing: glandular body types, adrenal types, somatotypes, and Eastern body types: their scientific basis, relevance for holistic medicine, and their possible relationship to perception, depressive realism, and constitutional diseases such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and elevated cortisol levels.
While body typing became more fragmented and holistic forms of body typing ceased to be recognised, eventually the psychological types of Jung were developed (13,14).
While evidence of constitutional involvement may be more readily acknowledged for diseases like CFS, diabetes and heart disease (7, 13,14, 40), other diseases such as obesity, hypertension, allergies, fluid retention, lack of resistance to infections, and manic depression, may also have a constitutional basis (6, 7, 13,14, 30, 31, 39, 40).

It is often overlooked but the body language of the interviewer is important in setting the right tone for the discussion.
Assessing a candidate’s body language at this point of an interview is therefore often a good guide as to whether or not they are really interested in the job.
One other reason for taking body language into account is the need to assess how a candidate would behave in the role in question and how they would be perceived by their peers and customers, both internal and external.
