Boggabilla is a small town of some 750 people on the Newell Highway, 118 km north-east of Moree, 9 km south-east of Goondiwindi and 744 km north of Sydney.
It is situated on the NSW-Queensland border, by the banks of the Macintyre River.
Boggabilla has little to detain the passer-by, although there is a motel, a caravan park and the Wobbly Boot Hotel.

The Boggabilla Community Link Centre in New South Wales which opened in December 2003, offers an integrated mode of service delivery to all members of the community.
In practice, this has meant developing Service Agreements with six of the area's organisations that work with young families, promoting use of the Centre for other groups through meeting with them, being present at local community events and forums, and supporting local groups in their work.

A unique cultural exchange between Hawkesbury and the remote community of Boggabilla, near the Queensland/NSW border, has developed as an extension of the exhibition of Indigenous art currently on show at Hawkesbury Regional Gallery.
Members of the Euraba Paper Company, based in Boggabilla, travelled down to the Hawkesbury for the opening of the exhibition and for a workshop in paper making and lino carving.
At the same time, they were very successful in promoting their range of certificate papers, book cover papers, artist papers, stationery sets cards, sketch blocks and embossed artworks, all made from 100% cotton rag and fibre harvested in the Moree area.

Boggabilla is located at the intersection of the Bruxner and Newell Highways, 7km south of QLD twin town, Goondiwindi.
Very little on offer for tourists as nearby Goondiwindi provides the commercial centre for the greater region (both NSW and QLD) although the town has the essentials for the local community.
Note for motorists: the Shell 1km south of Boggabilla is likely to offer cheaper fuel than in Goondiwindi despite being in NSW.

Parts of the north-west NSW region were buffeted by strong winds and hail overnight, but have escaped major damage.
Jean Botfield, from the north-west division of the State Emergency Service (SES), says the residents of Boggabilla have escaped injury, but a huge clean-up effort will be needed.
She says the Boggabilla SES was sent to remove trees which had come down in yards and on streets.

BOGGABILLA’S Community Technology Centre is set to become a solid stepping stone for people in the shire to get into TAFE.
The centre recently announced a new co-ordinator in former local Steve McIntosh who is keen to see it revert to being a link for people to use before they enrol in TAFE.
Mr McIntosh has moved back to Boggabilla for family reasons after a role in Tamworth the Aboriginal Employment Strategy as manager.

People travelling along the Yetman to Boggabilla Road during the depression years, often marvelled at the sight of a tiny straight-backed girl, trotting along the side of the road astride a small grey pony.
It just so happens that the person in question, Judy Mackay (then known as Judy Doyle) of Merawah Station, Boggabilla, who was a pupil at the Boggabilla Public School, was on her way to lessons.
Isolation was a huge drawback to this ambitious dressage champion, as Boggabilla was a long way from the nucleus of dressage training schools, usually conducted in the capital cities of our continent.

The Toomelah-Boggabilla program ran a conference in late 1997 which attracted community and education people from across the area, and showed the enthusiasm that exists for language information and education.
Further conferences were held in 1999 at Walgett and Coonabarabran, and at Goodooga and Boggabilla in 2000.
One is to develop a Gamilaraay - Yuwaalaraay Dictionary, and that project is nearing completion.

In May 2006, Desert Pea conducted a 3 week intensive integrated arts workshop program in the three communities of Boggabilla, Goondiwindi and Toomelah on the NSW/ QLD border.
The biggest indigenous urban music festival in the southern hemisphere, our project was funded by Brisbane City Council as part of ‘Stylin Out’, the regional component of the event.
The Boggabilla, Goondiwindi and Toomelah people had a fantastic time and we are honored that we could provide an opportunity for young people and community to be involved in such an event.

The community have signed an SRA that will provide a regular bus service between Boggabilla, Toomelah and the regional service centre across the Queensland border in Goondiwindi.
It will also fund two Recreation Liaison Officers (in Boggabilla and Toomelah) to help young people connect with activities in Goondiwindi.

Starting at the Newell Highway within the small town of Boggabilla (7km east of Goondiwindi - QLD), the highway heads (with no route number) in an easterly direction through cattle, sheep and agricultural districts to the junction town of Yetman.
The Bruxner Highway is named after Michael Bruxner, a Minister for Transport in NSW during the 1930's, who grew up in the Tenterfield area.
