The Bohemian Index is measured by dividing education completed or currently being undertaken by residents by the median household income.
In order to differentiate between which academic accomplishments would signify possible bohemianism among different age groups, the percentage of people 25 or older with a bachelor’s degree is combined with the percentage of people 18—24 with some college or an associates degree or higher at a ratio of 7:1.

 Bohemian Grove - Sonoma County, California
The Bohemian Club was founded, according to its PR people, in 1872 by "five newspapermen, a Shakespearean actor, a vintner and a local merchant" from San Francisco.
The owl is sort of the mascot or totem animal of the Bohemian Club, and each year during the opening pageant of the Grove encampment called "The Cremation of Care," the campers burn an effigy of a character called "care" at a pond in front of a large cement statue of an owl.
Here is another view of the swimming hole at the Bohemian Grove showing the lifeguard in his boat, the mock shark fin, spectators on the overlook, and the dock at right.

 Bohemian Grove Exposed
Each summer, for three weekends – this year’s will be the 103rd – nearly 2,000 Bohemians, with guests in tow, speed in by car and corporate jet to their guarded Grove, close by the hamlet of Monte Rio (population 1,200) on the Russian River.
The Bohemian Club is a private all male club, which is headquartered in the Bohemian building in San Francisco.
References and images of the owl are consistent throughout the grove, including an owl logo on the cocktail napkins, and the words “The Owl” are inscribed on the vehicles that transport people about the camp.  The owl worldwide has been used as a symbol of the god of death, misfortune and human sacrifice.
