Bohnenberger (crater) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bohnenberger is a lunar crater that lies near the east edge of the Mare Nectaris, in the foothills of the Montes Pyrenaeus mountain range that forms the perimeter of the mare.
To the east beyond the mountains is the larger Colombo crater.
The crater has a low rim along the north wall, and the floor is somewhat irregular with a ridge crossing the floor.

Posidonius is an excellent example and it and similar craters share many of these characteristics: shallow, mare-flooded floor, concentric and radial rilles, dark halo craters, and location near a mare.
Smaller craters tha Class I with sharp wall scarp and shallow, hummocky floor cut by concentric rilles.
Appear to be older large craters that are little modified except for smooth floors (typically light-hued) cut by linear rilles.

This crater is unusual in that it appears to have a ridge breaching the north crater wall and extending some distance into the interior.
Posidonius B and D on the northeast border of the crater were clearly visible throughout the observation period though their interiors were in fl shadow.
With the Blue 38A the bright NW portion of the inner crater wall was greatly emphasized in comparison to white or red light.

Since I had little time (the moon was already sinking) I decided to trace out the terminator on Rukl and see if there were any other moderately difficult highlights that might show well tonight.
Nearby, I spotted something that looked like a really fat rille dangling out of the crater Capella (Rukl 37), so I checked the map to see if there was one there.
Nope, I was seeing the southeast end of Vallis Capella, which cuts through the crater (obvious once I knew to look).

CRATER TIMING PREDICTIONS FOR THE 1999 JULY 28 PARTIAL LUNAR ECLIPSE
It includes a large number of lunar features (500) for immersion, where the crater is first eclipsed by the earth's shadow or umbra, followed by a list of 500 crater emersions where the center of the feature re-appears from within the umbra.
The lunar latitude and longitude are given for each feature along with the crater X, Y coordinates in terms of the moon's radius R. Accurate timing of these events provides useful data to determine the geometry of the umbra and hence the shape of the earth's upper atmosphere during this eclipse.
