Through the windows one can see the Bohus Castle from the fourteenth century, the church from 1689 and wooden houses from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
Bohus Castle was founded by the Norwegian king Håkan V in 1308 and did not become Swedish until the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658.
This house dates from the 1700s and was originally the home of the commandant of Bohus Castle.

My wife and I went to the Bohus castle when we were there in 2003 but when we went, it was closed because the "touristy" spots usually close end of Sept and we went end of Oct. Oh well, still got to see the outside.
When we go over again for OSD next month, we are staying at a castle in Germany off of the Weser River for the night.
We plan on seeing other castles as well but thought it would be different staying in one.
