Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Oingo Boingo at Epinions.com
Boingo was huge on the college circuit when I was a teen, back in the mid 80's, and you even probably know their biggest hit, 'Weird Science', which is NOT one of their better songs, but so goes the music industry.
My first taste of Boingo was from their release, 'Good for your Soul', which carried the frantic anthem, 'Who do you want to be today?' This song would drive my friends and I do thrashing and flailing about on the dance floor, scaring most others around us to the sidelines.
And don't think Oingo Boingo is all style and no substance...along with their unique sound, they included sharp, witty lyrics, that while often funny, carried a bit of sarcasm and commentary that I really didn't understand until I was older.

 VH1.com : Oingo Boingo : Biography
Oingo Boingo started not as a traditional group per se, as they were originally put together in the '70s by movie director Richard Elfman, who needed music for a whacked-out, John Waters-esque flick he was working on, called Forbidden Zone.
But Oingo Boingo had a step or two ahead of the local bands, both musically and visually, as Danny Elfman had spent several years in France working with a theater group and studying orchestra, which reflected in Oingo Boingo's hodgepodge of styles.
With Elfman primarily focusing on film composing by this point, Oingo Boingo was laid to rest in 1995 after a farewell performance at L.A.'s Universal Amphitheatre, which was issued a year later as a CD and video, appropriately titled Farewell.
