The first to surprise the public was Bojan Krizaj with his 4th place and Boris Strel with an 8th place in the giant at the Olympics in Lake Placid (1980).
Then c 2nd place for Bojan Krizaj in the slalom, 3rd for Strel in the giant slalom at the World Championships in Schladming (1982), Jure Franko was runner-up in the giant slalom at the Olympic Games in Sarajevo (1984) - these are just some of our achievements in the world of skiing.
Bojan Krizaj still heads the pack with 8 individual victories.

Bojan Krizaj, a former skiing ace from ex-Yugoslavia, also attended the session.
He said he was glad to see Sarajevo regain its pre-war appearance and expressed hope that Igman and Bjelasnica would also regain their former beauty.
Krizaj added that he too is taking part in the process of reviving these Olympic mountains.

Bojan, born in (Click link for more info and facts about Kranj) Kranj, was a member of a well known Tržič (Narrow wood or metal or plastic runners used for gliding over snow) ski family so he started skiing at the age of 3.
In the season 1976/77 he received the first World Cup point, qualified among the 15 best (A downhill race over a winding course defined by upright poles) slalom runners and later during that season in Madonna di Campiglio he hit his first top 3 podium.

Miran explains: 'Croats used to say our best footballer was Bojan Krizaj [in fact a skier in the 1980s], but now I think we give them a good game.'

The Slovenian racers have enjoyed many major international victories in the past 20 years: Juri Franco won a bronze medal in GS at the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, in 1986, the late Rok Petrovic conquered the slalom World Cup globe, followed by his teammate Bojan Krizaj in 1987.
In 1989, Mateja Svet clinched the slalom title at the FIS World Championships at Vail.

Ok, here it is: I've finally found it: the (in)famous Goesser menu which was on tables in the V.I.P. tent at Zlata lisica (the golden fox ski competition) arround 1990, right around the time when Bojan Krizaj stopped skiing professionally and went into business.
He signed a contract with the Goesser brewery and started importing their beer.
