The reverse-chronology of “The Search” allows listeners to hear the band as they were at their pinnacle; while it may be a hassle to hear the musical progression of the band, Revelation has definitely allowed Bold’s strongest side to shine.
For those that have the bold recordings, the inclusion of the pre-Bold band Crippled Youth is a sound for sore ears, as the metal side of Bold has not really developed to the degree that it would by “Looking Back”.

As 1988 came to a close, BOLD was now a 5-piece powerhouse able to stand on their own, pushing into 1989 with a developing hardcore delivery seldom seen before or since for high school seniors.
The band again found the addition of Porcell on guitar as Zulu couldn't make the tour, though he did play his last show at the band's home-club stop at the Anthrax, considered by the band as one of the best of the tour.
Since their return, BOLD has played up and down the northeast U.S., convincing those in attendance that the energy from 1989 has been reserved in their bloodstreams, brought to a boiling point, and is now boiling over.

 Bold Review
Although many bands came before them these were the guys that I most associated with, that I saw as more than just a band.
This discography encompassing the 5 years the band was a full band together playing shows and doing what they do best (creating kick ass Hardcore with metal tinges) is a testament to what Hardcore should be.
Bold just made you like everything about them by being in your face, telling you how they feel, and how life really is, even being young they knew what was going on around the world understanding things people wouldn't think a bunch of kids wouldn't know anything of.

Be Brave Bold Robot is a roots-rock band at heart, but this element is sometimes obscured by chord and tempo changes that are the musical equivalent of a verbal non sequitur.
Early last week, Be Brave Bold Robot brought its music to the California State University, Sacramento, campus, where the band played in a small, unobtrusive room in the University Union for a Communications Club mixer.
When the band was at its best (which was often at the CSUS show) the sound was something akin to the Counting Crows covering Frank Zappa, or like Calexico performing the collected works of Les Claypool.
