Bold Forbes (March 31, 1973 - August 9, 2000) was a thoroughbred racehorse.
Bold Forbes was a dark bay colt foaled in Kentucky, the son of Irish Castle (sired by Bold Ruler) out of the dam Comely Nell.
Bold Forbes arrived at the Kentucky Horse Park's Hall of Champions, located at Lexington, Kentucky on April 1991 and died Agusust 9, 2000 at the age of 27.

Bold Forbes was the grandson of the great Bold Ruler.
Bold Ruler who won the 1957 Preakness after finishing fourth in the Derby -- he later finished third in the Belmont -- was the leading American sire for seven straight years, and eight out of 11.
Bold Ruler sired probably the second-greatest race horse ever, Secretariat, and his genes coursed through most of the great Kentucky Derby winners of the past, including Seattle Slew, Spectacular Bid, Bold Forbes, Cannonade, Foolish Pleasure and others.

Winner of the 1976 Kentucky Derby, Bold Forbes had been a resident at the Horse Park since being retired from stud duty at Arthur Hancock’s Stone Farm near Paris, Ky. in April 1991.
“Bold Forbes has made a significant contribution to Thoroughbred racing and breeding, for which we will always be grateful,” said Hancock, noting the horse was relocated to the Horse Park so he could be seen by his fans.
Bred by Lee Eaton and Red Bull Stables, Bold Forbes was foaled at Eaton Farms on March 31, 1973.

HONEST PLEASURE also broke in stride to duel with BOLD FORBES through the initial run through the stretch, was taken back after three furlong sunder snug restraint, commenced a rally from the outside on the second turn to loom menacingly.
He lost ground when the winner drifted out in the upper stretch but continued gamely under a hand ride only to falter slightly through the closing strides.
