A Font object represents a particular Typeface along with a specific size, style, kerning, scale, etc, wheras the Typeface is just a generalised description of the shapes of the glyphs and their properties.
This is handy if you want to store a typeface in your application as a binary blob, and use it without having to actually install it on the computer.

ITC Rennie Mackintosh is based on the handwriting and drawings of Scottish designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, who was widely acclaimed for his highly original buildings, interiors and furniture produced at the turn of the century in Glasgow, Scotland.
The bold typeface design is very close in weight and color to Mackintosh's original hand lettering, while the lighter weight was designed to be suitable for use in smaller point sizes.
