Bolshevik (island) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bolshevik Island (Russian: Остров Большевик) is the southernmost island of the Severnaya Zemlya group in the Russian Arctic, and the second largest island in the group.
The island is mountainous reaching a height of 935 m, and it houses an arctic base named Prima.
About 30% of the island is covered by glaciers, while the coastal plains have a sparse vegetation of moss and lichen.

The mutual enemies of the American Bolsheviks here--namely, the Rockefeller cartel--and Russia's new rulers in the Kremlin are behind the present crisis.
One enemy of the Bolsheviks here is the Rockefeller cartel; the other enemy is the new anti-Bolshevik ruling clique in Russia; and now these two mutual enemies of the Bolsheviks are pooling their efforts in certain ways.
Their first priority is to rid the world of the deadly Bolshevik menace of all-out, even suicidal, nuclear war; but once that is done, they know that there will be a day of reckoning with the Rockefeller cartel some day.

Bolshevik influence was strong among the Russian working class citizens and the trade unions, which led to frequent strikes.
Months later it was discovered from Bolshevik deserters that their fleet was at sea at the time intending to attack the Chechen anchorage but became lost in the fog and returned to harbour, some to the delta but most to Alexandrovsk.
They assisted Baku troops to expel armed Bolsheviks from offshore islands and also dealt effectively with a Bolshevik gunboat whose crew had set themselves up in the small Persian port of Ashurada (Bandar-e Torkman) in the south east corner of the Caspian and were flouting their Bolshevik principles by engaging in private enterprise piracy.

Researchers discovered the existence of "Earths" where the Confederates won the US Civil War, where the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 is remembered as a total failure, where the Third Reich still rules over most of Europe, and where various public figures were assassinated or (in some cases) not, as the case may be.

Kronstadt 1921: An Analysis of Bolshevik Propaganda   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
The Bolshevik attack on Kronstadt was little more than a drastic overreaction in the face of a perceived challenge to Bolshevik authority.  It was inspired in large part by the dreadful Civil War, which had only ended in 1920 and had put Russia and the communists under a great deal of pressure.
After the Kronstadt revolt had already been crushed, the Bolshevik authorities found themselves haunted by its memory.  Rational observers soon dismissed the charges that the uprising was arranged by émigrés or White generals, and the bureaucrats needed new excuses for their actions.
Nor was Bolshevik sympathy for the revolt confined to the Kronstadt Party branch.  Several Red Army units that attacked the fortress nearly joined the rebellion, despite the placement of special security troops (loyal Bolsheviks with orders to shoot soldiers who wavered) among the ranks and Cheka machine-guns behind their backs.  Even high officials including "Gorky,...

The possibility of classification appeared when the scientists had lemming bones at their disposal, bones collected from the far south of Bolshevik Island, the most southerly of the islands in the Archipelago.
It transpired that the teeth of modern lemmings from Bolshevik Island are most similar of all to the teeth of fossil lemmings from the site of Betovo (about 36,000 years ago), which means they can be classed as relics from the last ice age.
It is possible that the matter lies in the fact that over the last 70,000 years the glaciers did not completely cover the surface of the Severnaya Zemlya Archipelago and, accordingly, they did not have a significant influence on the formation of the relief and deposits.

CBS News | Where In The World Is Diego Garcia? | December 13, 1999 05:18:31
Along with such obscure, far-flung places as Fogo Island off the West Coast of Africa, Pukapuka in the South Pacific, or Bolshevik Island in the Arctic waters north of Siberia, Diego Garcia isn't the sort of place to come tripping off the tongue of even the most geographically sophisticated.
Ordinarily there are less than a thousand U.S. military personnel on the island, but that number is multiplying.
Although Diego Garcia once had a small indigenous population, the inhabitants, known as the Ilois, were moved to Mauritius in the 1970s so that the island could be turned into a military base—over the strong protestations of other Indian Ocean islands, who objected to having cruise missles as neighbors.
