The 'Meeting the Past' exhibition is a collection of artwork created by the young people of Bolsover District as part of a project to engage them with the heritage of the Pleasley Mills site.
Developed by English Heritage, Bolsover District Council and Positive Activities for Young People, the project involved thirteen 12-17 year-olds taking part in a five-day residential during the August bank holiday, to explore the Pleasley site and surrounding areas using digital photography and drawing.
Their images were brought together on computers, with the assistance of Wirksworth designer and artist Esther Patterson, to offer their interpretation of the history of the mills combining it with the current uses of the site.

Bolsover Castle, on the eastern side of the Peak District in Derbyshire, was a large Norman motte and bailey castle dating from the Conquest (built by William Peverel, William's local land baron in these parts).
It is sited on a fairly prominent hill -- not a crag as such go -- and takes the classic keyhole form, with a keep tower and round inner ward at the edge of the hill and a wedge-shaped bailey or courtyard extending from it.

Last year, Bolsover held a tea party, using the Tea Caddies and it was very successful.
