		Dr. Bonaya Godana, Vice-Chairman of CMD-Kenya was among 14 prominent Kenyans, including two assistant ministers and three MPs, who were killed in a plane crash on Monday, April 10.
		Godana, who was also deputy leader of the main opposition party, was part of a delegation to a regional peace conference when their military plane crashed into a hill as it approached the town of Marsabit, 450 km north-east of Nairobi.
		His contribution to this cooperation shall be kept in our memory and we recommit ourselves to continue working in the spirit of which he was such an eminent and respected architect’.

		Godana, who is almost a legend in the region, made his career by rising through bright academic performance in a dry scrubland village known as Dukama, the village that borders the Chalbi desert, where he was born in 1952.
		Godana was tested to the limit for the first time during the 2002 General Election by Fila of Narc, but he rode the wave and retained his seat, returning to Parliament as Deputy Leader of the Official Opposition and Kanu national vice-chairman.
