Although Bondi is mainly associated with the famous beach, Bondi Junction is the gate to the eastern suburbs and is at the moment the closest train station to the eastern beaches.
Anyone who has ever stayed in Bondi, Bondi Jnct or anywhere in Sydney have the fondest memories of the place and fully intend to go back though they may be old and grey when they get the opportunity with life and all it`s attachments tending to keep you rooted to the one spot.
Bondi Junction and the Eastern Suburbs is the only place I would want to live but not with the pretentious snobs and more bakcpackers around than Sydneysiders.

The rotary boreing of the Edgecliff-Bondi Junction tunnel in the 1970's led me to seek other routes where the sandstone could be removed by rail.
Since then we have seen renewed agitation for trams from Bondi to Randwick and the University of NSW to somewhere (I hope it is Central as well as the CBD).
The heights station on a two station extension might be further up the rise towards Bondi Junction (as advocated by Peter Debnam MP), but the terminal would need to be as far north as possible to tap into the dense population of North Bondi.
