		Bonghwa County (Bonghwa-gun) is a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
		To the east it is bounded by Yeongyang and Uljin counties, to the south by Andong, and to the west by Yeongju.
		Because of this mountainous inland location, Bonghwa has a colder climate than most of the province, with an average annual temperature of 11°C. Bonghwa is connected to the national rail grid by the Yeongdong Line, which stops at Bonghwa Station on its way between Yeongju and Gangneung.

		To the east of Bonghwa are the counties of Uljin and Yeongyang, to the west is the city of Yeongju, to the south is the city of Andong, and to the north are the cities of Taebaek and Samcheok in the province of Gangwon-do.
		Bonghwa is 43 km from east to west, and 40 km from north to south.
		In the county is an area where the Sobaek and Taebaek Mountains meet, and there are a number of high mountains such as Taebaeksan (태백산, 1,567m), Guunsan (구운산, 1,346m), Geumsan (금산, 1,245m) and Seondalsan (선달산, 1,236m).
