		Mit Unterstützung des Papstes konnte Bonifatius nach der in den Jahren 738-739 erfolgten Ordnung der kirchlichen Verhältnisse in Bayern daran gehen, die Bistümer von Erfurt, Büraburg, Würzburg und Eichstätt zu gründen und deren Bischöfe zu weihen.
		Warum der über 80jährige Bonifatius noch einmal zur Missionierung der Friesen aufbrach, ist unbekannt.
		Nach Bonifatius wurde der Winfried-Preis benannt, eine Ehrung für Völkerverständigung und Frieden.

	Zaandam (NH): St. Bonifatius (A.A.J. Margry & J.M. Snickers, 1898-1900)
		In 1784 a parish was founded in Zaandam, some 200 years after the catholic faith had become illegal in the province of Holland.
		The design for the St. Bonifatius featured a westwork that looked very similar to that of the St. Hildegardis, which was designed by E.J. Margry shortly before his death.
		This westwork consist of a short square tower with a protruding porch and two polygonal stairturrets at the front and a tall spire on top, flanked by traves which are taller than the side-aisles of the nave.
