The Mothership Connection album gave The Mob their first gold album and launched Funk as a musical genre in its own right, it also set a concert production standard that few bands were able to match.
"The Mothership Tour" spawned "The P-Funk Earth Tour", "The Funkentelechy vs. The Placebo Syndrome /Flashlight Tour," and the "Aqua Boogie /Motor Booty Affair Tour",extravaganzas that made P-Funk the hottest concert ticket of the late '70s.
