		This recording is not for serious opera fans who are almost certain to prefer the original orchestrations of the arias with the voice more prominent minus the backbeat.
		It was a delight to hear William Hite sing, enunciating the texts clearly, with appropriate facial expressions and gestures.
		The music and drama were never boring, but at the same time never really presented anything especially moving.

		I think this book will enable them to find out what is available, to get past some stereotypes, and to decide for themselves whether there might be more to contemporary Christian music than they thought.
		A list of music genres makes it easy to figure out what the writer means when coming across a strange musical style, and a complimentary CD-ROM version of the entire book makes it incredibly easy to find exactly what you are looking for.
		This book would make the best gift imaginable for someone you know who likes rock or pop music, but might be kind of skeptical about the whole Christian rock scene.

		And it made the same effect to me. It is really a pity that this book mixes together extremely interesting (and scientific) topics with purely subjective opinions (in the attempt of letting them appear objective "facts").
		Anyway, I found the first half of the book worthwhile reading and the second half needing a lot more "mind-level-filtering" (I mean that I just removed and neutralized in my mind every idiotic personal statement made by the author, to be able to extract only useful informations...
		By the way, I actually wrote a comment on this book on this very same newsgroup in 2002.

		The Magnolia Sisters offer a refreshing perspective on Cajun music, not only because they are one of the genre’s only all-woman band, but in their beautiful harmonies and rediscovery of little-known traditional repertoire.
		I've always been impressed with Putumayo's world music compililations (one of my favorites is Mali to Memphis) and their take on Lousiana music, particularly the Zydeco album, is a worthy addition, and exellent introduction to the genre.
		This is an anthology of zydeco music, compiled by author Michael Tisserand as a companion recording to his acclaimed book, The Kingdom of Zydeco (Arcade Publishing, 1998).
