Boone County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana.
The county's commissioners originally selected Jamestown (on the county's southern border) to be the seat, but a law passed January 26, 1832 forced it to be moved to within two miles of the county's center.
In the county the population was spread out with 28.30% under the age of 18, 6.30% from 18 to 24, 30.20% from 25 to 44, 23.40% from 45 to 64, and 11.80% who were 65 years of age or older.
