 Boothby Graffoe
Boothby has quickly become very popular among Australians this year (2000) as this is the year he came to Australia and appeared on a number of TV shows.
Boothby's comedy festival show was just titled his name, but that was not all he did at the 2000 Melbourne Comedy Festival.
Probably the only comedian in the world to be named after a market town in Lincolnshire, Boothby Graffoe has long since recognised by punters and fellow performers alike as one of the most original, inventive and entertaining acts on the British comedy circuit.

Reviews from the 2005 Edinburgh Fringe (12)
Boothby Graffoe, the comedian named after a town in Lincolnshire, is one of those people who seem to be a fixture at the Edinburgh Fringe; even though there must have been a Fringe before Boothby, it's difficult to imagine it without him now.
This is a cause that Boothby has been supporting for a while, but he does not push it down the audience's throat during the show - in fact he admitted forgetting to mention it the night before.
Boothby is funny as ever, with some good new material and some very funny new songs and a few more insights into non-feline areas of his personal domestic life than in the past - if any of it is true.

Boothby Graffoe review   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
A little known comedian, Boothby has musical talents aswell, as you can see by the guitar he's holding (thats right, its not just for decoration), he has done a few tours but has not yet released any video or DVD shows which is probably why he isn't that well known yet.
It is a shame because he is actually a very talented comedian combining his musical talents with clever lyrics to create some funny songs.
I think he is a very talented comedian with a lot of untapped potential for TV stand up shows, if he can get a long show for himself then I'm sure he'd become a huge success.

The Stage / Edinburgh / Reviews / Boothby Graffoe and Antonio Forcione - Wot Italian?   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-13)
Lanky comic absurdist Graffoe is a festival legend in his own right but his shows with the mostly monosyllabic but quietly charismatic Forcione inspire the kind of fervent fan admiration not often witnessed outside of a religious cult.
Although the songs are such an infectiously silly joy, and Graffoe such a consummately funny master of ceremonies, that even first timers would be hard pushed not to get swept up in all the fun.
The main joke, that as he struggles to keep up with Forcione, Graffoe, while more than capable of holding his own, is by far the inferior musician, may be starting to pall.
