With Wolves due to play Hull at their new KC Stadium, it gave the perfect opportunity to visit their former home, Boothferry Park.
Unfortunately I never had the chance to see a match here, and with news that demolition may start some time in the summer, I was looking forward to having a good look round on the morning of our game.
Passing the KC Stadium on my way, when I arrived at Boothferry Park, it really was a good contrast of how grounds have changed in recent times, with BP not being the most modern of grounds.

He represented Airmyn and the Rawcliffe area as an Independent councillor on the former Boothferry Borough Council from its inception in 1974 - standing down when its functions were transferred to the East Riding Council seven years ago.

Teams representing national electricity companies Powergen and Npower competed in a charity football match at Boothferry Park two weeks ago to help raise money for Multiple Sclerosis sufferer Geoff White, who is the father of the Powergen team captain, Mike White.
With a trophy donated by Boothferry Trophies on Spring Bank, the teams squared off in the first (but hopefully not last) meeting for the Geoff White Challenge Trophy.

In 1992 we took on an eight-year lease, altered the building to our requirements and moved in May. It has turned out to be an excellent decision because as our development continued, the building has been able to cope with everything we hoped and planned for, and is now fully utilised.
In 1993 we were dealing with 15,000 per year and had a combined funding of £74,000 from the Boothferry and Humberside Councils which continued until 1996/97.

Now, I know that first sentence would have confused some people due to it not being the best of grounds, but I liked it, I found it very nostalgic.
Overall the ground was quite good but was definatly starting to show it's age and it's a good thing Hull moved, although I would love to go to Boothferry Park.
