Borg Collective - Non-canon Star Trek Wiki - a Wikia wiki
In 2369, a Borg Cube attempted to travel from the Gamma Quadrant end of the Bajoran Wormhole into the Bajor system, but the vessel was torn to shreds by the Wormhole as it was currently undergoing Subspace Compression.
During the running battle between the Federation and the Borg Cube from the Typhon Sector to Earth, the Borg assimilated a number of Starfleet officers and were able to extract information about the Dominion and their Founders.
The Cube on which these children were stranded had been disabled by a virus left in the body of one of the children, Icheb, when he had been assimilated.

  Borg
The Borg are a race of "enhanced" humanoids native to the Delta Quadrant.
Powerful transmitters within the Borg cubes are responsible for sending out signals in subspace that activate the homing signal within Borg implants which forces lost drones to return to a Borg hive in the event of separation with the Collective.
First contact with the Borg was made in 2365 when the entity Q threw the Enterprise D into the Delta Quadrant on an intercept course with a Borg cubicle heading for the Alpha Quadrant.

Borg starships - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The cube appears to be the principal spacefaring unit of the collective, by far the Borg craft most often seen on-screen and the type of vessel used in both the Battles of Wolf 359 and Sector 001.
Cubes have been known to carry sphere ships in cavities covered by large slide-away hatches in the outermost layers; however, it is unknown if this is common.
Borg cubes are as powerful as they are immense, with a single cube being capable of annihilating entire fleets of advanced (e.g., Federation Starfleet) ships, and are matched by few others (e.g., "Species 8472").

Unicomplex Computer Core: Borg Battle Directive
Even with its WEAPONS and SHIELDS of 24, a Borg Cube is not quite the one-ship armada that a Vor'cha under the influence of Kurlan Naiskos is. The Borg are constrained by very particular battle rules that are not immediately obvious, and may perhaps be counter-intuitive, to some players attracted to the Borg.
Borg Cubes are, with their WEAPONS and SHIELDS of 24 each, the most formidable ships available.
Borg drones are not quite so intimidating in personnel battles as Borg Cubes are in starship battles.

 Borg - Bureau of Information
First contact between the Borg and the Federation came in 2365 as a result of the actions of Q. The first Borg attack on Earth came in 2367 and was repelled.
Although many details are still unclear, the Borg appear to have invaded the Romulan Star Empire, assimilating several worlds on the antispinward side of the Empire and launching several series of attacks against the Romulan Star Empire between 2398 and 2406.
The Borg gain new technology through assimilation, but they appear to be incapable of the innovation required to develop new technology on their own.

Borg-Species 8472 War - Memory Alpha, the Star Trek Wiki   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
The forces of Species 8472 proved highly superior to that of the Borg, and their invasion of the Milky Way Galaxy was repulsed only after Captain Kathryn Janeway of the USS Voyager provided the Borg with an effective weapon against them.
However, when the Borg attempted to assimilate Species 8472, they found that the species was resistant to assimilation -- their immune system was so efficient that any invader was immediately destroyed, including Borg nanoprobes.
However, Janeway was injured in the attack, and Lieutenant Commander Chakotay decided to dissolve the alliance rather than rendezvous with another Borg cube; he attempted to eject the Borg into space, but Seven of Nine remained on board.

The Borg chose not to attack the Federation at this time, presumably because they were on their way to some other more urgent location.
Later analysis showed that when the a Borg is attacked the collective mind analyses the destruction of individual drones and creates a defense, which all drones then add to their own systems via their replicators.
Captain Picard was able to use his knowledge of the Borg to locate a weak point on the hull, and by concentrating the firepower of the few remaining ships on that spot the cube was successfully destroyed.

Thousands of cubes are estimated to exist in Borg space in the Delta Quadrant; the largest grouping of cubes directly observed by Starfleet thus far is fifteen, by the crew of the USS Voyager in late 2373.
The concept for the Borg cube was conceived by Maurice Hurley and designed by Rick Sternbach.

Ex Astris Scientia - Borg Ship Classes
All Borg vessels since "Best of Both Worlds" seemed to lack the ability of fast regeneration, but they were much harder to damage in the first place.
Since the TNG cubes may be considerably larger, while the differences between the "First Contact" (physical) and Voyager (CGI) cubes are less obvious, it may be useful to distinguish only two types.
We may assume that the Borg built a new one (as well as a new Queen), since we see the Queen's chamber again in "Unimatrix Zero" and in "Endgame" where the Unicomplex is apparently ultimately destroyed.

Borg vessels generally appear to follow a very similar design philosophy, with the exception of the single vessel created by the Borg under the direction of the android Lore.
A Borg cube can function even if 80% of it is destroyed completely; in the Typhon sector battle an entire fleet plus heavy reinforcements succeeded in inflicting damage only to the outer hull of the Borg cube despite continuous heavy attacks over a prolonged period.
The cube had a more armoured appearence than the more general purpose ships and carried heavier weaponry, but Voyager was able to last long enough in battle with the cube for Janeway and her officers to succeed in their plan to get aboard and become assimilated.

How powerful are Borg cubes? [Archive] - SpaceBattles.com   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-19)
I don't think it takes 1/10 the power because if you watch that episode the borg cubes were destroyed with a blast that lasted at the most a second however the planet withstood a sustained blast of about 5+ seconds...if I remember may be a little less or a little more.
Given that it took several shots to destroy a borg cube, the amount of power they gave to that blast must be small.
And then consider the fact that the borg are quite literaly idiots, they'd only have 1 side face an ISD, thus meaning that the cube is gettng 1/6 of the firepower that was directed at the entire fleet.

Chakotay says they'll be helping the Borg to defeat an enemy, and she says the enemy deserves it, especially after what they did to Kim, and he says she's just justifying her course of action.
The Borg are fun, and I was somewhat suspicious of some aliens who were supposed to be "worse than the Borg." But the 8472s are pretty awful, and the Borg do seem more manageable as a consequence.

 Space institutions - Borg Unicomplex
Although in the extensive Borg space, there are probably many similiar space structures, especially with regard to the decentraliced structure of the Borg collective, the Unicomplex seems to be the largest and most important Borg conurbation.
In fact, the Unicomplex, that is located in a red gaseous nebula, probably in the heart of Borg space and approximately in the middle of the area between the Nekrit expanse and the Krenim empire, is a kind of center or starting point of the Borg collective.
The exterior as well as the interior of the Unicomplex resemble the Borg cube and sphere, and the sub-structures are equipped with the same technology: alcoves, collective-supporting systems and defensive systems.
