Unicomplex Computer Core: Borg Battle Directive
Even with its WEAPONS and SHIELDS of 24, a Borg Cube is not quite the one-ship armada that a Vor'cha under the influence of Kurlan Naiskos is. The Borg are constrained by very particular battle rules that are not immediately obvious, and may perhaps be counter-intuitive, to some players attracted to the Borg.
Borg drones are not quite so intimidating in personnel battles as Borg Cubes are in starship battles.
In general, the Borg may not take any actions that they are not directed or permitted to take by their current objective.

 Battleship Class Ship Models
The Borg chose not to attack the Federation at this time, presumably because they were on their way to some other more urgent location.
Later analysis showed that when the a Borg is attacked the collective mind analyses the destruction of individual drones and creates a defense, which all drones then add to their own systems via their replicators.
Captain Picard was able to use his knowledge of the Borg to locate a weak point on the hull, and by concentrating the firepower of the few remaining ships on that spot the cube was successfully destroyed.

Ex Astris Scientia - Borg Ship Classes
An Earth transport was assimilated by the Borg in 2153.
All Borg vessels since "Best of Both Worlds" seemed to lack the ability of fast regeneration, but they were much harder to damage in the first place.
We may assume that the Borg built a new one (as well as a new Queen), since we see the Queen's chamber again in "Unimatrix Zero" and in "Endgame" where the Unicomplex is apparently ultimately destroyed.

Borg - Memory Alpha - A Wikia wiki
The Borg were intially concieved of by Maurice Hurley as a race of insects (which were shown in the TNG Season 1 episode Conspiracy), but were changed to the more budget-friendly cyborgs that would go on to become so famous.
The Borg Queen (Star Trek: First Contact) would also later claim to be present at the Battle of Wolf 359, despite the fact that she acknowledged the destruction of that ship and all the Borg on it.
Still another explanation is that the Borg were in possession of inumerable copies of the Borg Queen and that the superficial death of one version simply resulted in the activation in a similar version to take her place, in a similar way to the Vorta.

Allocation of the larger Danube-class runabout to starships in the field proved too costly, and with the expressed need by the Sovereign-class development team for a capable shuttle, the Type-11 was born.

According to the Borg drone, designated as One, some of these spheres are designated as long range tactical vessels, have transwarp capability and ablative hull armor.
They are also smaller in size than a Borg Cube, and may be launched from a Cube as a sort of escape pod.

Borg Technology is extremely advanced in all areas, this is because it is an amalgamation of all that has ever been assimilated.
Diplomacy and cooperation is irrelevant and inefficient to the Borg, and such inane communication interferes with the natural progression of territorial advance and assimilation.

Star Trek: Borg for PC Review - PC Star Trek: Borg Review
Borg is infuriating not only because of the lousy gameplay, but also because ofthe potential of this absolutely lame FMV-fest.
Borg has it all: time travel; the smarmy, omnipotent Q; the scariest alien race ever to populate the Star Trek universe; and an angry, orphaned cadet's passionate (and very un-Federation) wish for brutal retribution.
Borg is infuriating not only because of the lousy (indeed, almost nonexistent) gameplay, but also because of the obvious tremendous expense and potential of this absolutely lame FMV-fest.

 Borg technology
Among the many advantages their collective consciousness affords them, the Borg hive-mind allows for instantaneous adaptations to shield and phaser frequency modulations in combat; they are also able to regenerate and repair their massive cube ship with the power of their collective thoughts alone.
This is how Federation Scientists believe the Borg managed to get to Federation Space from System J25 in the Delta Quadrant in under a year, a trip which would take a starship at maximum warp at least 7 years to cover the same distance.
The Borgs first contact with humans occured in 2357 when a lone craft, flying through what is known as Botha Space attracted the attention of the Borg.

Tech Commentaries - Directed Energy Weapons
First fielded in 2271 on the newly refitted starship Enterprise, this was a superphaser that channeled its power through the warp engines, which magnifies the phaser's power by a further square of the superphaser's augmentation (which at the time effectively made the hyperphaser the equivalent of a standard phaser 2 types larger).
The advent of various types of augmented phasers on Starfleet starships and starbases in the 2260s and 2270s resulted in various efforts among blaster- and disruptor-using navies to develop similarly augmented versions of their weapons in reply.
Furthermore, given the sublight acceleration Borg vessels - and indeed, Star Trek starships in general - are capable of, that two of the Cubes were overtaken by the shockwave is a strong indication that the scene had been shown in slow motion for the viewer's benefit.

The Borg are without question one of the most fearsome and relentless forces in the Milky Way galaxy.
This special exclusive video documentary narrated by Vaughn Armstrong provides an overview of Borg culture and some of the more notable Earth/Federation clashes with the Borg, from their attempts to subvert history in 2063 to the first documented encounter with a starship in 2365, to their decimation by a visitor from the future in 2378.
This treatise is by no means complete, as the volume of data available on the Borg would take hours to relate, but rather is intended to serve as a "primer" on this crucial topic.

The Discovery-Class marks a watershed in starship design, demonstrating both Starfleet's bold return to long-term exploration and an unprecedented degree of incorporation of non-Federation expertise into the design process, resulting in the first class of vessel built specifically to travel trans-galactic distances and back via the revolutionary quantum slipstream propulsion system.
Prior to the First Borg Incursion, starship design reflected a committment to peaceful exploration and a downplaying of offensive systems, as epitomized by the Galaxy-Class explorers.
After encountering both the Borg and then later, the Dominion, Stafleet was forced to develop ships more optimally designed for combat, such as the Defiant, Sovereign, and Prometheus classes.
