		Additional villages had been recruited to the program in Borikhamxay where a student from the Danish Veterinary College participated in the recruitment process, but her report to the Faculty has not been completed.
		A significant proposal to the project from the December mission was that in the new participating villages the main point of contact should be a woman involved with pig raising.
		The local project leader organised and delivered the vaccination program in an additional 8 village in Borikhamxay province and in FLSP villages in 2 districts in Xiengkhouang province.

		This tree grows on altitude and can only be found in Xieng Khouang, Houaphan, Saysomboun, Borikhamxay...
		The access to it is very difficult since May Longleng only grows in mountain.

		Ha Tinh, May 14 (VNA) -- A funeral and reburial ceremony for remains of 27 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who had died in Laos during the war was held at the Fallen Combatant Cemetary in Huong Son district, the central province of Ha Tinh, on May 14.
		Present at the ceremony were representatives of the Defence Ministry, Ministry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Command of the Military Zone 6, and leaders of Borikhamxay province of Laos and Ha Tinh province.
		This is the seventh time that the provincial military command has repatriated remains of Vietnamese voluntary soldiers who had died in Laos to the country.

		Laos (FFC) On October 12, 2005 the Fact Finding Commission reported the surrender of 242 men, women, and children from the jungles of the Borikhamxay Province in Laos to government authorities.
		An updated report from Wa Leng Lee, leaders of the U.S. Secret War veterans in Borikhamxay Province allege the 43 families were captured by LPDR military forces.
		Lee reported that on October 1, 2005 soldiers from LPDR Battalions 615, 617, 917, and 117 surrounded the group lead by Wa Meng Yang near Na Chonh, at the border of Laos and Vietnam.

		In the wake of losses suffered nationwide, the National Disaster Management Office is coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to mobilise assistance from international agencies, said the national disaster office Director, Mr Phetsavang Sounnalath.
		According to the office, from July to Se ptember seven provinces were severely affected by flooding - Borikhamxay, Khammuan, Savannakhet, Xekong, Vientiane, Attapeu and Oudomxay, and also the capital of Vientiane.
		For the past 10 years, flash floods and landslides have been common occurrences in provinces such as Phongsaly, Luang Prabang, Luang Namtha, Huaphan and Borikhamxay.

		Five Lao students to head to Japan on study tour FIVE Lao students who came in top in a nationwide writing competition will be heading to Japan on a study tour soon.
		The five are Ms Lamnguen Souknalarth from Parksun Upper Secondary School (Borikhamxay), Mr Atsavin Thepphakan from Thakhaek Upper Secondary School (Khammouan), Mr Khy Symeuang from Santhiphap Upper Secondary School (Luang Prabang), Ms Latdavanh Xaiyasaeng from Chantha Upper Secondary School (Attopue), and Ms Chanthakhone Khamfong from Moun Upper Secondary School (Champassack).
		The five deserving students received their prizes, which comprised certificates of congratulation and study tours to Japan, at the Lao Plaza Hotel last Friday.
