Federation Council Chairman Sergei Mironov was born near Leningrad on 14 February 1953.
In 1994, Mironov was elected to the St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, and he was re-elected in1998.
Mironov will occupy the No. 2 spot on the bloc's party list, but it is unlikely that he would leave the Federation Council to serve in the Duma, even if the Mironov-Seleznev bloc passes the 5 percent hurdle for party-list seats.
