The team traveled to Borjomi town and met with the municipal authorities who informed UNHCR that local authorities had enough funds to assist the displaced for a one to two-week period but would need outside assistance should the displaced stay for a longer period.
They then traveled to a sanatorium in Borjomi town and to the village of Tsemi to meet with the relocated and assess the situation.

I can say confidently that the parties involved have reached the best possible decision which fully ensures the safety of the unique resources of the Borjomi Gorge and the ecological safety of the gorge itself on one hand, and which does not hamper the implementation of the project in the agreed time-span on the other.
However, the global significance of the project does not imply that we intended or anyone demanded from us to endanger one of Georgia's jewels which the Borjomi Gorge is. The foreign investors agreed to take safety measures which are nearly unprecedented in the world practice.
On the whole, we all must comprehend that we are an independent country and that we have gained a serious mission and function within the large geopolitical system.
