The Borromean islands are named after the Borromeos, a family of wealth and nobility who over many years developed three islands that have now become exclusive, world-renowned resort destinations.
These islands are known as the Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola Superiore, also known as Isola dei Pescatori because it was a thriving fishing community.
The islands are filled with lemon groves, palm trees and other subtropical plants that climb around the collection of luxurious villas.
