		Boscobel House in Staffordshire was built around 1632 when landowner John Gifford of Whiteladies converted a timber-framed farmhouse into a hunting lodge, Boscobel house became one of the most evocative sites in the English historical imagination.
		It was at this property that Charles II famously hid in a tree to escape discovery by Puritan soldiers.
		Gifford called the new hunting lodge Boscobel House which is believed to come from the Italian phrase "bosco bello" meaning "in the midst of fair woods".

		BOSCOBEL — The Department of Natural Resources will start buying walnut seeds on Sept. 21 to grow into seedlings used for reforestation projects throughout Wisconsin on public and private lands, the state agency announced today.
		The Wilson State Nursery at Boscobel requested assistance from foresters in southwest Wisconsin in procuring seed for the state nursery program and that’s why “we are setting up a walnut seed collection station in Darlington,” said Ray Amiel, DNR forester at Monroe.
		DNR foresters prefer that seed be collected from trees that are healthy and have good timber qualities, such as a straight trunk and few lower limbs so their genetic characteristics are carried into future forests.
