Linked with the Bosilegrad area is also the first written evidence (the mid-18th century) of the hussars - ordinary brigands at that time, who with the assistance of Serbia and Austria were later "transformed" into the light cavalry of the same name known throughout Europe.

In the municipality of Bosilegrad live 11,600 people, out of which 2447 people live in the town of Bosilegrad while others live in 36 villages that belong to the municipality of Bosilegrad.
This is especially true for the Bosilegrad municipality mostly because of its geographic position: it is situated far away from the main roads, in the mountains, and during winter months it is cut off from the rest of the world completely.
Travelling to a great number of villages in municipality of Bosilegrad was also a big problem because they are situated away from the main roads and are very often cut off from the rest of the world.

Macedonia like region is known from many century, I dont see any reason to claim them for anything else, but not macedonians.
Of course, maybe there is some procent of "true bulgarians" who stay there after WWII and was asimilate to be macedonian (or serbians in Bosilegrad for example).
Sorry to tell you, Alex, but it seems that geography and history are one and the same thing for you unfortunately.
