With the Red Sox doing everything humanly possible to match up with the Yankees (making roster moves, setting their rotation, publishing skewed propoganda in the media, etc), I still have extreme confidence that the two teams go 3-3 to finish the year with both of them winning at home.
So even though the Red Sox have the game's second-highest payroll (which is still millions less than the Yankees), an owner willing to open his wallet, and the ability to sign big-game free agents and ink draft picks that most of the other franchises cannot afford, they are still considered David to the Yankees' Goliath.
Red Sox Nation, on the other hand, consists of fans from Boston and New England, and transplants who live across the country and the world, but it extends beyond people with ties to New England.
