In January 1906, the Boston Symphony was on the road (or on the train) again with concerts in cities in a large circle: Providence, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore, New York City, Brooklyn, Hartford (Connecticut) and Springfield (Massachusetts).
On January 8, before a BSO concert in Philadelphia, Hampe, Mausebach and Kenfield went to the Victor Record studios (most likely in Camden, New Jersey, although it's possible they went to the Victor Studios in New York City; research is ongoing on this point).

One wonders why this pairing of Seiji Ozawa and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra with Michael Tilson Thomas and the Boston Symphony Orchestra all under the spell of Stravinsky was issued.
The Boston Symphony is an excellent orchestra to work with (the woodwinds and brass especially); otherwize the Chicago Symphony could have been the only other choice.

I was there with the Boston Pops, playing the pre-game show including the National Anthem; read my day to day diary with commentary and photos of preparations beginning in the week leading to the Super Bowl as the Boston Pops headed to New Orleans to cheer our home town team on to victory!
Eugene Adam, who won the Grand Prix in trombone at the Paris Conservatory in 1903 and played trombone and tuba with the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1918-1947 left an extensive collection of study material.
One of my great passions is to play the serpent, the unusual 400 year old wind instrument which was invented to accompany chant in the church and found its way into the symphony orchestra and other musical ensembles.
