		Die aus Sumatra stammende Botia zeigt zwischen dem letzten schwarzen Querstreifen und der roten Schwanzflosse, einen beigefarbenen Körperbereich, wärend bei den aus Borneo stammenden Botien der schwarze Bereich in den roten der Schwanzflosse direkt ineinander übergeht.
		Botia macracanthus leben in Kolonien in den unteren Wasserregionen, das heißt aber nicht, dass es Schwarmfische sind, die eine sogenannte Schule bilden, man kann sie eher als Gruppentiere bezeichnen.
		Botia macracanthus sind immer in kleinen Gruppen unterwegs

		Meine Botia haben abgelaicht und ich weiss nicht was ich jetzt machen kann !
		Habe mich weiter nach Berichten umgesehen,kenne mich aber nicht mehr aus.Manche denen eine Nachzucht gelungen ist sagen Botia legen ihre Eier ab und betreiben keine Brutpflege,aber in anderen Berichten wird von sehr intensiver Brutpflege gesprochen.
		Entweder ist es von den Botia in der Höhle gefressen worden oder aber sie sind gschlüpft.

		Botia (crown loaches, skunk loaches etc.) are hardy, long-lived attractive Fishes that may not be as efficient at scavenging as Corydoras catfish are, but they have many other desirable qualities.
		Clown loaches, by far, are the most atractive Botia you can keep in your aquarium, stripes on a brilliant yellow (or orange) background make a big splash in your aquarium.
		Botia do need a certain kind of habitat to be happy.

		Les botia en général sont très sensibles aux infections externes, notamment parasitaires, du fait de leur physiologie (pas d'écaille pour les protéger).
		sinon il été avec 1 botia striata et aucun problème par contre dés lors que j'ai introduit un morleti (botia vert a nageoire orange) il a été rejeté et s'est laissé mourrir...
		Seule botia, et dans un bac de petite taille, ce qui prouve bien que l'on peut l'élever ainsi, mais bien entendu il est tout de même préférable de lui adjoindre d'autres Botia, de son espèce ou d'une autre, de la famille des Botia.

		Personally, I would not recommend keeping clown loaches in the same tank with more aggressive scavengers.
		As one of the scaleless members of the Cobitidae family (along with others of the Botia genus), clown loaches are often the first fish in the tank to show signs of ich when the parasite is present.
		If treatment becomes necessary, take care in choosing medications because loaches and other scaleless fish absorb chemicals through the skin more readily than their scaled counterparts.
