GameDev.net - Understanding the QuickSort Algorithm
It chooses one element, called the partition element, then shifts the elements of the array so that everything less than the partition element comes before it in the array, and everything greater than the partition element comes after it.
The partition element is then at its permanent place in the array, and QuickSort calls itself twice: once to sort the upper half of the array, and once to sort the bottom half.
The partition element is temporarily swapped with the last element of the array segment.

Typically, the size of a font is approximately equal to the distance from the bottom of the lowest letter with a descender to the top of the tallest letter with an ascender and (optionally) with a diacritical mark.
The left outer edge of a left-floating element may not be to the left of the left inner edge of its parent element.
The left outer edge of a left floating element must be to the right of the right outer edge of every earlier (in the HTML source) left-floating element or the top of the former must be lower than the bottom of the latter.

 The Little Calculist: Pointed domains
In a denotational semantics for a language with non-termination, you use pointed domains, i.e., CPO's with a bottom element.
Because the existence of a bottom element is used for the proof of the existence of fixpoints for all functions, it's critical that every domain have a single bottom element.
So that's what the "coalesced sum" and "smash product" constructions are for: they identify multiple bottom elements in multiple domains into a single bottom element in the combined domain.

 Bottomgap Bug
The red groove is the bottom border of that same element.
This grabby bug likes to steal a bottom margin from the absolutely positioned element having the highest 'z-index', which is the last AP element in the document tree (unless overriden by using 'z-index'), and apply it to the bottom of that tree's root element.
That red html bottom border proves 'absolutely' that it is the root element itself that is aquiring the wandering margin.

 Vertical Alignment
vertical-align property may be used to alter the vertical positioning of an inline element, relative to its parent element or to the element's line.
The value may be a percentage relative to the element's

Take the top element from the unsorted pile (the "key" object) and insert it in its proper order in the sorted pile (real easy if the sorted pile is empty).
If the current element (the bottom element, initially) is smaller (or larger, if that is the way things are being sorted), than the key object's value, then insert the key object below the current position.
Starting at the top element, go down the pile until a value that is less than or equal to the key is encountered.

 Water Heater Element
If one element of the water heater was burnt-out and going to ground, the thermostat would be bypassed, and your water at the faucet would be hotter an usual.
The upper element comes on first via the thermostat, and will heat the water until satisfied, around 120-130 F. Hot water is lighter than cold.
With only 1 element working, you would experience a shortage of hot water, filling a tub etc. Generally the element most likely to burn out is the one at the bottom, because sediment builds up at the bottom of the tank, touching the element.

If it was me, I'd put in a DC element in the bottom, and use it as a dump load from a wind genny.
Though you might have a semi-static temperature gradient, the water at the top is used first and would be the warmest, kind of like reducing the volume and therefore the heating requirement of the tank.

 Longhorn Tip #1 - DockPanel.Dock (XAML != HTML)
The first element that the parser encounters with a DockPanel.Dock value of “Bottom“ will be the first element locked to the bottom.
The next element with the same “Bottom“ value, will be locked on TOP of the prior one (there might be ways to get around this, so please feel free to challenge me if you believe I am wrong).
Because the “Fill“ is presented before the “Bottom“, the “Fill“ element will take up the entire bottom part of the screen, effectively “covering“ the “Bottom“ element.
