	Removal of the last traces of dignity - Bounce by Bon Jovi - Epinions.com
		The title track of the album is heavily connected to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, but the song originally began as the band sort of bouncing back in the new century after their long break.
		It was easy to recognise Bounce as the worst album the band had done, and it seemed that by now the band had lost the plot completely.
		This album didn't have the potential that Crush had - that album had a lot of potential that was sadly lost -, this time there just wasn't enough decent material to work with.

		The one thing that I have to say about this album that I have to say, is that you have to look at this as a full album.

		Their eighth studio album "Bounce" proves once again that these rockers still have the raw passion in them to create something very special.
		I was expecting a ballad, but in their true style, a rock song has been delivered, not only focusing on the loss, but on the strength and friendship that has been gained by people uniting around the world as one.
		It was hard to choose a favourite from the album as they are all standout tracks but the songs that impressed me the most was the ballad "You Had Me From Hello" and the rock songs "Everyday", "Hook Me Up" and "Bounce".

		Bounce shouldn't disappoint their die hard fans as the band doesn't stray far from their trademark sound that made them famous the world over.
		This first song is lyrically the weakest song on the album with Jovi's repeated chorus: 'one for love, one for truth...' It is quite a dark and uninspiring opening track which sets the tone for an album that is influenced by the events of September 11th.
		Bounce is awesome, I have to admit I had to listen to it a couple of times to get used to it but when it thrashed into undivided I knew it was a gooden!!

		Given that Bon Jovi successfully pulled off a comeback in 2000 with Crush, a shiny pop album pitched directly at the mainstream, it's kind of a surprise that they returned two years later with a record as turgid as Bounce.
		Of course, much of the record is given over to "serious" topics, as if the band felt that the events of 2001 necessitated a grave response for Bounce, regardless of what they were singing.
		This casts a pall over the record, but this stumble is not the sole reason Bounce is such a misstep for the band.

	Bounce Soundtrack CD
		"Bounce" is pure, competent, sing-a-long Sondheim with a book by the brash and sharp playwright John Weidman(Pacific Overtures, Assassins).
		The score might be a little complicated to the novice listener but to Sondheim fans its familiar and delightful territory where the story is told with melodic twists, turns and tangents that sometimes soar with two or three songs destined for the permanent Sondheim Song Book.
		All in all, "Bounce" is high art bound to satisfy serious musical theatre listeners.

	3/19/01: CD Reviews Fever and Bounce
		Unfortunately, music of this limited nature tends to work best in short increments, and the 42-minute-long disc seems longer than it actually is ("Another cue featuring eerie piano and synth effects over percussion!?") But all credit is due to Delia for making the best of a low-budget situation.
		A better and more interesting score (and album) for this type of movie is Patrick Doyle's hip and thematic Great Expectations, which commented on the urban stories of the characters while creating a beautiful listening experience.
		That said, the Bounce album does have its virtues, especially for the more intimate moments of the movie like the heartbreaking "Crash" and "Moving Day." These tracks have a new age feel that effectively serves a story which wears the themes of rebirth and renewal as a proud badge of honor.

		One of the few lineups to make the leap from 1980s "hair band" into long-term semi-respectability, Bon Jovi's eighth studio album is somewhat true to the band's pop-metal roots, though Bounce is ultimately mellower and more theatrical than previous outings.
		Typical ballads like "Joey" and "All About Loving You" also populate the album, which often feels like a singer-songwriter outing, or a movie soundtrack, rather than an album by a veteran rock band.
		Some of Bounce's bouncier tunes may still appeal to the now-middle-aged fans of the band's "Livin' on a Prayer" era, while the melodrama marking much of the album might lose those who prefer headbanging over Bon Jovi's more mellow and grandiose musical musings.

		While Jon Bon Jovi may not have much in common with the modern-day cowboys he writes of in his better-known songs, he and the band that bears his name are clearly the Comeback Kids.
