Techno music - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Techno is a form of electronic music that emerged in the mid-1980s and primarily refers to a particular style developed in and around Detroit and subsequently adopted by European producers.
The historical similarities between techno, jazz, and rock and roll, from a racial standpoint, are a point of contention among fans and musicians alike.
Techno is also very DJ-friendly, being mainly instrumental, and produced with the intention of being incorporated into continuous DJ sets wherein different compositions are played with very long, synchronized segues.

 Bouncy techno
Typical characteristics for bouncy techno are for compositions to be around a tempo 160 to 200 BPM (beats per minute) using a 4/4 signature of 4 cycle segments, where different elements would be gradually layered into the mix.
Bouncy techno proved to be instantly popular in mostly Scotland and North East England alongside gabba, whilst the rest of the UK was engrossed in the developing breakbeat movements of either happy hardcore or jungle that was simply alien in Scotland's populous youth and rave culture at that time.
Bouncy techno characteristics are still mangled somewhat in the current hardcore scene, though there has been demand from the enthusiast or die-hard fan for a return of a bona fide sound in some form.

 Techno - Uncyclopedia
Techno was actually created by Detroitian gangsters Almer "Scarface" Frappachino and Bugs Morgan as a new method of disposing of no-longer useful business partners.
In this role it failed abysmally for reasons which are, with hindsight, quite obvious; however it soon found acceptance among the youth of the day, until now scarcely a Sunday morning goes by unaccompanied by the thumping of a twelve-hour drug-fuelled rave in the fields.
Techno was derived from House music, which was innovated by Og the caveman who just happened to be banging a rock on the ground at 120 BPM.

Techno Music - ALKIMIA - Techno Music
In the years immediately following the first techno compilation's release, techno was referenced in the dance music press as Detroit's relatively high-tech, mechanical brand of house music, because on the whole, it retained the same basic structure as the soulful, minimal, post-disco style that was emanating from Chicago and New York at the time.
The most prominent of these techno offshoots are: Detroit techno, music in the style of early techno from Detroit, not necessarily of that geographical origin.
Wonky techno, the birth of the term wonky techno can be traced back to London DJ Jerome Hill's record shop where a section had been setup proclaiming to be full of "Wonky" tracks.

Techno has a beat that cannot be confounded, it's totally electronic and usually uses the straight 4/4 beat, hard synth-keyboard riffs, pounding Belgian style bass, often it contains samples of male rappers and female vocals.
There's also the happy version of hardcore techno: Happy Hardcore, also known as 4-Beat, is the kind of techno that's very fast, very bouncy and very danceable.
It evolved from the German Techno, using the rolling bass and sizzling keyboards of techno to give the music a hypnotic effect.
