 | | Although these are good as violin bows, they are not as good for that purpose as the new Arcus violin bows - however, they are my choice for viola - especailly for their ability to give fine sound over the whole range of the instrument and avoid some treacherous areas of the C string. |
 | | The Glasser CF bows have a particularly comfortable thumb "leather" compared to the other two bows; it seems to be slightly cushioned, an indication that it may wear and need replacement before too long, but since neither of the other bows has a particularly fine or durable "leather", this is, at best, a temporary difference. |
 | | The properties of the finest pernambuco bows are ultimately limited by the nature of the wood that may have been optimized over eons for only one job, to support the reproductive capacity of their species, not to become bows. |
