Brachiosaurus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brachiosaurus is estimated to weigh from 30 to 80 tonnes (35 to 90 tons), to reach 13 meters (42 feet) in height, and 25 meters (82 feet) in length.
Brachiosaurus was a sauropod, one of a group of four-legged, plant-eating dinosaurs with long necks and tails, and tiny brains.
A Brachiosaurus is also mounted in the B Concourse of United Airlines' Terminal One in O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, courtesy of the Field Museum of Chicago.

Brachiosaurus might seem to be slouching here, but that is what I believe was its neutral pose, with its (relatively) itty bitty head cantilevered over 8 m ahead of its shoulders, and significantly, still over 6 m above the ground despite the way this reconstruction lowers the boom.
A DinoMorph™ model of Brachiosaurus brancai is being created by painstaking entry of the dimensions of the specimen SII of the Humboldt Museum of Natural History in Berlin, from Janensch's monographs as well as from photographs courtesy of Brian Curtice and Christopher McGowan.
Brachiosaurus brancai has been given, since it's first restoration, a swan-like neck (with few exceptions in the literature).

The specimen of Brachiosaurus brancai¹ in the central exhibit hall is the largest mounted dinosaur skeleton in the world.
It is composed of fossilized bones recovered by the German paleontologist Werner Janensch from the fossil-rich Tendaguru beds of Tanzania between 1909 and 1913.
The Brachiosaurus brancai species was moved to a new genus in 1988 by Gregory S. Paul, so the specimen is technically a Giraffatitan brancai.

Brachiosaurus and some of the other large sauropods (the huge long-necked plant-eaters) needed to have large, powerful hearts and very high blood pressure in order to pump blood up the long neck to the head and brain.
Brachiosaurus was a sauropod, whose intelligence (as measured by its relative brain to body weight, or EQ) was the among the lowest of the dinosaurs.

Estimates of size are based on a contrast between the four Sauroposeidon vertebrae and the vertebrae of the HM SII specimen of Brachiosaurus brancai, situated in the Humboldt Museum in Berlin.
The neck length of the Sauroposeidon is predictable at 37 to 39.5 feet (11.25 to 12 meters), compared to a neck length of 30 feet (9 meters) for the HM SII Brachiosaurus.
This means that while the Sauroposeidon almost certainly has a larger body than the Brachiosaurus its body is lesser in comparison to the size of its neck, so it did not weigh as much as a scaled-up brachiosaur.

brancai material was collected for the Humbolt Museum fur Naturkunde in Berlin to mount a skeleton composed of the bones of several individuals, and this has provided the basis for almost every illustration of Brachiosaurus ever published.

Sauropods were worldwide in distribution but have not as yet been found in Antarctica.
Sauropod skulls were of several main types, including the high, boxy Camarasaurus type (often incorrectly associated with Apatosaurus); the shoe-shaped Brachiosaurus type, with its large, delicately arched nasal bones; and the low, narrow, streamlined, almost horselike Diplodocus type.
The first had broad, spatulate teeth, while the latter two had narrow, pencil-shaped teeth largely confined to the front parts of the jaws, especially in diplodocids.
