But then if, as others have stated here kerri is more widespread than just koh yao yai, and with the variability you get between individual fish on hikari, they may turn out to be subspecies of the same species, in the same way that tweediei is currently deemed a subspecies of abolineatus.
paul, the fish on pete cottles site is undoubtedly a male hikari, not a kerri the reason i say this is the fish in the pix has a blank midbody region whereas in the kerri the lines go from the caudal to the head.
I have a feeling given the more widespread locations of kerri and its regional differences that we might be best to talk about Danio kerri var hikari for the time being.

 Float Your Fish?
I placed ten zebra danios (Brachydanio rerio), about 1.25 inches long, into 800 ml of well water from an aquarium with an airstone in it and 2300 ml of room air in two different plastic fish bags.
It has been my experience in commercially shipping fish that large giant danios (Brachydanio kerri) use up a lot of air in the bag.
When we ship these fish we must fill the bag with oxygen as soon as we placed the fish in the shipping bag or they will show signs of running out of air by gasping at the surface.

No detectable line or pink tinges on the side, so I'm debating between calling it a Brachydanio albolineatus or a Brachydanio kerri but it doesn't matter except that I want to try and find it another home now.
