The band produced a string of ground-breaking hard rock albums and enjoyed major popularity throughout the 1970s, but their serious substance abuse and drug addictions contributed to their decline (The Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia reportedly said they were "the druggiest bunch of guys I've ever seen"), and almost relegated them to the annals of history.
Joe Perry and Brad Whitford left the group and the period from 1979-1984 was a dark one for the band, which carried on with replacements.
The band took time off with their families before working on their next album, Nine Lives, which was plagued with personnel problems, including the firing of manager Tim Collins, who according to band members nearly caused the band to break up.

Brad began a haunting instrumental introduction of the Bob Dylan classic, "The Times They Are A-Changin'." It seemed that the band would play the song in a completely instrumental fashion, as there was no singing on the first verse, but shortly into the song, Brad began to sing the timeless and poignant lyrics.
Brad and the band had their fun and began the introduction to the requested song, which was greeted by a joyous response from those who were desperate for it.
Brad explored during this song in a different way then he had throughout the night, and Marc's fast soloing and upbeat tempo was a nice way to cap off the night.

Brad Sucks is a one-man band who writes, records, mixes and distributes his music from his home in Ottawa, Canada.
According to Brad, "If the worst-case scenario is becoming a well-heard musician who never gets paid, I can live with that." His debut album, "I Don't Know What I'm Doing", was released in August 2003 and has been downloaded by thousands of people from around the world.

For the next year, Brad spread himself between the Osbourne sensation and the Night Ranger effort, and can be heard on lead guitar on Osbourne's Speak of the Devil live album.
This hard edge band was spotlighted on the motion picture soundtrack to "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead." It didn't take Gillis long, though, to get the itch for the road again and quickly discovered that fellow Night Ranger member and drummer, Kelly Keagy, felt the same.

The band searched for a name that wasn’t already takenÂ…and drummer Steve Sugrue suggested “Walnut Grove Band” since the band was occupying the ever so cool Stewart family garage space on Walnutgrove Lane.
One cannot mention Casey's contribution to the band without explaining how significant it is. Casey later went from being a great drummer for WGB to being a great guitarist for WGB, almost overnight...much like the way he switches from musician to graphic artist everyday.

Brad Davis, a native of Dallas, Texas, began learning to play the classical guitar in 1969 when he was 5 years old.
Brad says, "I would go and see them play every weekend and it really made me want to get up there and play." When he was eight years old he got his first steel string guitar and joined Greg playing on stage shortly thereafter when Greg's friend had to quit.
Brad played the Collings for about ten years until just recently when he found what he calls "The guitar I have been looking for my whole life." It is a new Merill C-28 model built by Jim Merrill of Williamsburg, Virginia.
