Dialogue: Robert Cooper & Brad Wright
Wright, the series' creator, and Cooper, who began as a writer on the show, remain so enthusiastic about "SG-1" that even nine years in, they gleefully recite dialogue bits from the first season -- especially the really, really bad ones.
Wright and Cooper spoke recently with Rebecca Ascher-Walsh for The Hollywood Reporter about their favorite "SG-1" moments, weakest episodes and the worst line uttered by a character on the show.
Wright: The fact that we've been there from the beginning is a blessing and a curse.

Save Daniel Jackson | Response to Brad Wright
And how insulting to his fellow writers for Wright to think that just because *he* is apparently incapable of coming up with a storyline for Jackson that was not thought up by his original creators, Devlin and Emmerich, that no one else is capable of moving the character forward either.
Something Wright promptly reversed in S4 when he was, very unfortunately for the viewers and the characters, given sole charge of the 'wheel' and promptly headed the show in the direction of the biggest iceberg he could find.
Wright clearly regrets the loss of it because it robbed him of one of the few storylines with which he evidently feels comfortable: a man and a woman who have feelings for one another but are separated by circumstances, but it was his loss, not ours.
