		Bradley County was formed on December 18, 1840 and was named for Captain Hugh Bradley who fought in the War of 1812.

		Herbert Bradley Martin (December 11, 1888-August 5, 1918) was a 1911 graduate of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and the first United States serviceman from Bradley County, Arkansas, who was killed in action during World War I. His parents were descendents of early Arkansas pioneer families.
		Herbert's mother was Sarah Eunice Bradley (1862-1935) granddaughter of the founder of Bradley County, Hugh Bradley (1783-1854).
		Bradley covers only a few weeks in the spring of 1883 and is also primarily a weather journal with additional ledger-type notations.
