The Bradley, named after WWII General Omar Bradley, is a replacement for the M113 family of APCs and consists of two types of vehicles, the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle.
The Bradley AFV was designed largely to trump the BMP-2, and to serve as both an APC and a tank-killer.
The Bradley is equipped with the M242 25 mm chain gun as its main weapon.

Bradleys are prized in Iraq because they are fast, maneuverable and armored sufficiently to protect the crew and up to a squad of dismounting infantry from small arms, rocket-propelled grenades and all but the largest roadside bombs (also known as "improvised explosive devices," or IEDs).
M1 Abrams tanks and Bradley fighting vehicles were key to devastating the militia of the Muqtada Sadr in the battle in Najaf, while keeping U.S. casualties at a minimum.
Armored vehicles are becoming a lot like fighter airplanes, in that the innards are changing dramatically even though the basic structure of the vehicle remains the same, Muktarian said.

The Bradley must stop in order to fire these missiles, which are them reloaded by the Infantrymen in the back of the vehicle, using a special hatch which provides armor protection during the reload operation.
The M3 is a cavalry/scout vehicle, instead of carrying 6 dismounts in the payload compartment, the M3 carries a pair of scouts, additional radios, ammunition, and TOW and Dragon or Javelin missile rounds.
