Braidwood (postcode: 2622, 35°26′S 149°48′E) is a town in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia, in Palerang Shire.
Braidwood is located on the Kings Highway linking Canberra to Batemans Bay on the coast.
Braidwood was formerly the seat of the Tallaganda local government area.

Braidwood Servicemens Club Ltd is itself a memorial for all wars although it has never been officially opened or unveiled as such.
The R.S.L. applied for a quarter of an acre of land in Ryrie Park on which to build memorial club rooms for returned servicemen but there were objections that they might become licensed premises and consequently be undesirable neighbours to the Convent and children's' playground.
The club is completely independent of the R.S.L. as membership of the latter is limited to those who served overseas and the wish was for the club to include not only all those who took part in the war but the whole community.

The erection of the monument was first mooted by the then Mayor of Braidwood, Mr P. Coffey at a patriotic function in Ryrie Park, a couple of years after the war started.
Soldiers who were born in Braidwood, enlisted there or whose parents resided there at the outbreak of the war were eligible to have their names added to the honour roll.
Major-General Sir Granville Ryrie, a veteran of the Boer War and the Great War, a descendant of one of Braidwood's original settlers and assistant Minister of Defence in the Federal Government was asked to do the unveiling, but failed to attend.
