  Brainwave synchronization - Psychology Wiki
Brainwave synchronization is the practice to entrain one's brainwaves to a desired frequency, by means of a periodic stimulus with corresponding frequency.
Brainwave synchronization (entrainment) may be achieved when audio signals are introduced to the brain causing a response directly related to the frequency of the signal introduced, called binaural beats.
The fixed, constant frequency of the synchronization is less helpful than techniques such as classical neurofeedback or learning meditation, which naturally generate brain wave frequencies that differ from person to person and may vary from minute to minute.

Binaural beats - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Second, some protoscientists believe that binaural beats may influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves and can be used to produce relaxation and other health benefits.
According to this view, when the perceived beat frequency corresponds to the delta, theta, alpha or beta range of brainwave frequencies, the brainwaves entrain to or move towards the beat frequency.
An active mental participation by the subject is needed to produce the synchronization.

Their flashing light protocol was quite unusual: the lights flashed synchronously in both eyes at a frequency of 10 Hz for two minutes, then were turned off for half a minute, then flashed at 18 Hz for two minutes, and then were turned off again for half a minute.
Although this method of brainwave entrainment is much older, and definitely effective, we believe that the use of DSP ambient sound can achieve the same clinical response and induce brainwave entrainment in the listener, and is much more pleasant and enjoyable to listen to.
Theta is a lower level of brainwave activity between awake and sleep, and corresponds with the hypnotic or trancelike state in between wake and sleep.

Electroencephalography is the neurophysiologic measurement of the electrical activity of the brain by recording from electrodes placed on the scalp, or in the special cases on the cortex.
Neuroscientists and biological psychiatrists use EEGs to study the function of the brain by recording brainwaves during controlled behavior of human volunteers and animals in lab experiments.
Scalp electrodes are not sensitive enough to pick out individual action potentials, the electric unit of signaling in the brain, or whether the resulting electrical activity is releasing inhibitory, excitatory or modulatory neurotransmitters.

Brain Hemisphere Synchronization is a principle in neurophysiology which occurs when the hemispheres of your brain are functioning in perfect rhythm with one another.
Since what you are hearing is a compilation of Dr. Thompson's proprietary brainwave technology, his special light glasses translate this to your eyes and cause hemisphere synchronicity in the visual lobes of your brain in sync with the synchronicity of the hearing centers through the headphones.

 Human Potential Technology
Brainwave activity is measured by the number of waves, or electrical frequencies that occur in a given unit of time.
This 7Hz is formed entirely by the brain, and because it is created by both hemispheres of the brain working in unison, then brainwave synchronization has been accomplished, and can allowing one to create effortlessly any specific state of mind.
This means that if we listen to binaural beats at a frequency that is commonly found in states of high concentration, then we'd develop a highly concentrated mind state.

Ever since the beginning of recorded history, people have been using entrainment to alter their brainwave states like gazing into a flickering fire or candle flame, chanting, using rhythmic sounds or repeating mantras and even listening to certain styles of music.
One great example of brainwave entrainment is the use of drums or rattles to alter brainwaves.

Over the past 30 years there have been a series of studies in which EEG synchronization has been observed between a "sender" presented with a particular sensory stimulus (or simply deciding to emit qi) and a shielded, distant percipient.
In general the brainwave synchronization occurred within a few seconds from the sender stimulus.
In only a few of those cases was equipment used to monitor the sender and receiver and there were no significant synchronicities between the two.
