  Bramham Park Fun Run
The eighth Bramham Park Fun Run took place on Sunday 8th October on a perfect day for running.
The 9th annual Bramham Park Fun Run is to be held on Sunday 7th October 2007 starting at 10:30am, in Bramham Park.
There is a choice of 5km and 10km circuits covering a variety of terrains using tarmac roads, paths and farm tracks through the park.

  History
The rural nature of Bramham and its surround­ings has been protected by the ownership of much of its acres by the Headley and Lane Fox families, and latterly in the eastern part, by John Smith's Brewer; and the University of Leeds for its Department of Agriculture.
Bramham moreover is notable for the striking number of grand houses which he within its boundaries, some predating, but all developed within, this period.
Bramham Park Estate bought it and it was lived in by Mr Edmund Harrison, their steward.

The Palladio-style Florentine villa and French-inspired gardens at Bramham Park were created in 1703 - 10 for Robert Benson, MP for York.
It was not until 1906, when Bramham Park was the principal residence of another George Lane Fox (also Lord Bingley), that the fire damage was repaired and the interiors remodelled by the architect Detmar Blow.
Bramham Park is surrounded by 66 acres of French palace garden.

Scientists from the University of Leeds are using ground-penetrating radar to unravel the complex mysteries of the “plumbing” buried beneath 70 acres of formal gardens at Bramham Park, near Wetherby, West Yorkshire.
English Heritage is working with The Bramham Park Estate and the University’s geographical consultancy agency, Geocat, based in the School of Geography, to examine the feasibility of restoring the features back to working order, as part of the park’s overall landscape and conservation plan agreed two years ago.
Andrew Wimble, English Heritage Landscape Architect, said: “Bramham Park is perhaps the only large scale formal garden in the UK to survive virtually unchanged from the late 17th century.

Bramham is a historic house in near Wetherby, West Yorkshire, England, currently owned by Nicholas Lane-Fox.
The current house was restored in the early 20th century after a fire in 1828 left the house uninhabitable for 80 years.

With this in mind, musicOMH.com sent not one but two reviewers off to Bramham Park, Leeds for the Carling Weekender 2005.
The very mention of it brings to mind visions of, well, flat caps, Yorkshire tea and The Kaiser Chiefs to be perfectly honest, but also half of the final summer festival, the Carling Weekender.
Fortunately, the hour was still early enough to pile into the NME tent (and not for the last time this weekend) like contortionist, agoraphobic battery hens to see the first of many bands whose recent success had made their billing a bit of a mockery, Maximo Park.

The first event was held in Temple Newsham Park, however, some idiots caused a lot of fighting at the 2000/1 festivals.
The minority buggered off and a wicked time was had by all, with long time legends Primal Scream singing all their oldies for a sun baked crowd.
The security has been greatly improved since the fisticuffs at Temple Newsham Park, leaving the festival to be a friendly, chilled affair with the opportunity to get off your nut if one fancies.

There was also some new material showcased which seemed to be well received, despite not being particularly amazing.
Ever since I got my hands on Hybrid Theory I couldn't wait to get to see Linkin Park live.
It must have been an amazing thing to see from the stage and I personally won't question -too much- the sincerity of the comment 'this is the highlight of our career', because in terms of live shows to top that would take something special.

Melvin Benn, Managing Director of Mean Fiddler Music Group, has today announced that the Carling Weekend: Leeds Festival will be moved to a new location: Bramham Park, 10 miles outside the city.
A licence was granted for both Bramham Park, Leeds and Temple Newsam Park earlier this week.
After listening to the deliberation over the two days of application and re-assessing the access routes of both sites as well as the long term future of the event, it is felt that a new site would benefit the event this year and for the future.

The application for the site that's been used in previous years - Temple Newsam Park, Leeds - is expected to be heard tomorrow, and organisers Mean Fiddler would rather hold the event there is the licence is granted.
The Leeds City Council licensing panel spent all day considering the apllication at privately-owned stately home of Bramham Park near Wetherby, before deciding to grant the licence, even though the applications for both sites were opposed by both the police and local residents.
Both the Leeds and Reading Festivals take place from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24 August with a line-up that includes Linkin Park, Blur, Metallica, Blink 182, Placebo, The White Stripes, Beck, Doves, System of a Down, Sum 41, Primal Scream, and loads more already announced, with even more still to be announced.
