 Paper Mills in Headley and Bramshott
The paper mill at Bramshott, also known as Passfield Mill and not to be confused with Bramshott Corn Mill (SU837332), was 2.8km north-west of [Bramshott] church and near the parish boundary with Headley.
During the 1870s and the 1880s the Warren Brothers used the pair of engravings of Bramshott and Standford Mills, which is reproduced in figure 11, as a billhead and for advertising purposes.
The view of Bramshott Mill is from the east and shows the pond with two swans in the foreground, several buildings on the dam and two others, one with a tall smoking chimney, stretching into the distance.

The village grew out of the hamlet of Bramshott which was established by Norman times.
In the fifteenth century it was known as Chiltlee or Chiltley but John Speed's map of 1610 shows it as Lippocke.
The area was dominated by the four manors of Chiltlee, Bohunt, Foley and Bramshott.

The manor of Bramshott was held by two unnamed freemen in the reign of Edward the Confessor, and at the time of the Domesday Durvey it was held by Edward of Salisbury.
The manor was split in the fifteenth century but by 1550 the entire manor was held by the Mervyn family.
In 1610 the manor of Bramshott was conveyed to John Hooke and later passed to the Whitehead and Dennis families.
